About Stacella

Stacella Choir was founded in 1996 and comprises over 120 girls from years 7 - 12 at Star of the Sea. The choir is much in demand, performing concerts for primary schools, nursing homes, local festivals, service organisations and corporate clients.

Our showcase ensemble, Stacella Singers, is a group of Year 10 - 12 students from the choir, who rehearse in addition to their usual Tuesday afternoon rehearsal time.

At Years 7 and 8, our Junior Choir serves as a preparatory program for Stacella Choir.

Girls who wish to be in either the Stacella Choirs from Years 7 - 10 are required to be part of the A Cappella Group Singing Program.

Students receive a 55 minute lesson each week in groups of 8 - 10. Subjects from which they are drawn are rotated so that no student should miss more than an hour’s tuition per term from any given subject.

This Choir has been established to serve the needs of the singers and, therefore, leadership tasks and responsibilities are shared.
